Head of Funds Audit Delivery – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: London (only applications from London-based candidates will be considered)
We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Funds Audit Delivery to lead the end-to-end delivery of fund audits and tax returns across our diverse fund range.
About the Role
This critical position ensures the timely execution of audits for over 400 funds, including complex portfolios such as:
- Luxembourg and UK fund ranges
- Long-Term Asset Funds (LTAFs, including CTRA fund)
- Ground Rent Funds
- Private Market Funds
The successful candidate will act as a Senior Technical Programme Manager, responsible for:
- Strategic leadership of fund audit processes, ensuring governance, quality assurance, and operational excellence
- Project management—assessing deadlines, managing project plans, and effectively mitigating risks
- Stakeholder engagement across:
- Aviva Investors teams
- Aviva Group Finètica
- HSBC Fund Controllers
- External auditors (EY and BDO)
- Facilitating monthly audit governance forums, securing formal third-party engagements, and overseeing communications/designated reporting structures
- Contributing a strong accounting background to conduct technical reviews and ensure financial reporting integrity

Key Responsibilities
- Drive efficiency and compliance across fund audit procedures, advocacy roles, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
- Oversee end-to-end fund audit process, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain seamless collaboration with internal departments and external auditors
- Lead third-party engagements and governance initiatives
- Foster operational excellence through innovation, process improvements, and robust controls
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA/ACCA/ICAEW/IMC equivalent)
- Project management experience within asset management, particularly in private markets and fund services
- External audit experience, ideally with Big 4 firms (EY/KPMG/PwC/Deloitte) or a major firm such as BDO
- Technical accounting expertise, particularly within fund services (tax reporting, transfers, AML/KYC, depository services—advantageous but not mandatory)
- Strong understanding of project governance methodologies and proficiency in MS Office applications ( including advanced Excel, Project/Main*placement) or equivalent tools
- Strong working knowledge of UK/Luxembourg funds, including compensation/embedding, and specialist civil law funds
