Head of Funds Audit Delivery - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Location: London (Contractual) only – other locations cannot be considered
We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Funds Audit Delivery to lead the end-to-end delivery of fund audits and tax returns across our diverse fund ranges.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
- Oversee the timely execution of audits for over 400 funds, including complex portfolios such as:
- Long-Term Asset Funds (LTAFs, including the CTRA fund)
- Ground Rent Funds
- Private Market Funds
- Luxembourg & UK fund ranges
- Serve as a Senior Technical Programme Manager with deep expertise in:
- Fund management
- Audit processes
- Financial accounting
- Responsible for:
- Managing project plans
- Driving delimiter adherence and mitigating risks
- Leading monthly audit governance forums
- Formalising engagement with third parties
- Overseeing communication, reporting, and operational excellence
The role demands strong stakeholder engagement across multiple external and internal teams:
- Aviva Investors
- Aviva Group
- HSBC Fund Controllers
- External auditors (EY and BDO)
This is a high-impact position requiring strategic oversight, people management, and a strong grasp of regulatory and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead a high-value team to deliver audits and tax returns to schedule and within budget
- Ensure financial integrity through technical reviews
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with:
- Audit directors, partners, and governance forums
- External auditors
- Fund management teams
- Implement governance frameworks, compliance measures, and reporting standards
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Drive operational efficiency in audit delivery processes

Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (e.g., ACA/ACCA) or industry-recognised equivalent (e.g., IMC)
- Project management experience in Asset Management
- Deep understanding of Project Governance and proficiency in:
- MS Office applications
- Project methodologies and tools
- External audit experience, ideally within Asset Management
- Preference given to candidates with Big 4 or medium-sized external audit backgrounds
- Strong technical accounting profile, particularly in Fund Services (advantageous but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of fund accounting, transfer agency, AML/KYC, banking, payments, depositories, and tax/compliance processes sought
- Familiarity with funds audit processes at scale
