Head of Geography
Are you an experienced Geography teacher with leadership aspirations? We are currently seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our outstanding school in Stanmore as Head of Geography. The Role: As Head of Geography, you will play a key role in leading and managing the Geography department, driving standards of teaching and learning, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Key responsibilities include:
Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Geography department, overseeing curriculum development, assessment, and resources.

Leading and managing a team of passionate and dedicated Geography teachers, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities as needed.
Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging, and innovative Geography lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
Monitoring and evaluating the progress and attainment of students, implementing interventions and strategies to support their academic achievement and wellbeing.
Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where diversity is celebrated, and every student feels valued and supported.
Developing strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to enhance the educational experience and opportunities available to students.
Contributing to the wider life of the school community through participation in extracurricular activities, events, and initiatives.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in Geography or a related field.

Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a track record of achieving excellent results.
Leadership experience or the ability to demonstrate strong leadership potential.
Outstanding subject knowledge and a passion for Geography education.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and students to achieve their full potential.
Commitment to promoting the values and ethos of the school and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
