Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience, skills & qualifications)
Location: Chilton, Oxfordshire (office-based with hybrid working). UK travel required.

Ready to shape the future of the UK's biggest garden gift card scheme?

We're looking for an experienced commercial leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer and member experiences, building strong relationships, and driving commercial growth.

This is an exciting newly created role at the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), established to strengthen and expand our gifting team as we continue to grow and develop our gifting portfolio for members. As Head of Gifting Experience, you'll play a pivotal role in leading the commercial and operational success of the National Garden Gift Card Scheme, helping ensure it continues to deliver value for our members, customers and partners across the UK.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a nationally recognised gifting proposition that has been supporting the horticultural industry for more than 60 years while helping shape its future growth and development.

Why join us?

The National Garden Gift Card Scheme is one of the most successful gift card programmes in the UK horticulture sector, generating around £40 million of consumer spend annually for garden centres and horticultural businesses across the country.

As our new Head of Gifting Experience, you'll take a leading role in driving the continued success of the scheme, working directly with members, commercial partners, suppliers and colleagues across the HTA. You'll have the opportunity to influence strategy, identify new commercial opportunities, and lead initiatives that enhance both member value and customer experience.

This is a highly visible role with significant scope to make an impact. You'll become the principal ambassador for the National Garden Gift Card Scheme, helping to strengthen member engagement, grow participation and identify innovative ways to support our members and the wider industry.

What we can offer you

  • A meaningful role where you'll have the autonomy to take ownership, contribute ideas and help shape improvements
  • A competitive salary and generous benefits package, including 30 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays, pension, health cash plan, life assurance, employee discount scheme, employee assistance programme, cycle to work, electric vehicle schemes, and free on-site parking with EV charging facilities
  • A comprehensive induction programme, providing structured support and training on our systems, processes and ways of working from day one
  • Access to ongoing learning and development opportunities to help you build your skills, broaden your experience and grow your career
  • Support and coaching from experienced and approachable managers who are invested in helping you succeed
  • Work alongside passionate and knowledgeable colleagues who are committed to delivering excellent outcomes for our members

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
