About This Role

The Head of Grocery & Retail Strategic Accounts leads the commercial relationships with our largest grocery and retail partners. You will lead a high-performing commercial team, combining strategic relationship management, joint business planning, and trading strategy to deliver sustainable growth.

In this highly commercial leadership role, you will champion a customer-centric approach to optimize operational performance. By fostering cross-functional teamwork to deliver, you will work closely with senior leaders across Product, Marketing, and Operations to shape the future of Grocery & Retail.

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, emphasizing collaboration and helping one another succeed.
  • Own the commercial performance of the grocery portfolio, aiming high to meet ambitious growth targets.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite and senior commercial leaders across major retail partners.
  • Develop and execute Joint Business Plans that unlock long-term growth and drive excellence.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations, annual trading agreements, and contractual discussions.
  • Design annual trading and promotional plans that drive sales growth, basket size, and profitability.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities through innovation, customer insight, and market trends.
  • Drive continuous improvements in partner operational performance and end-to-end customer experience.
  • Use commercial data and performance insights to influence executive decision-making and strategy.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to deliver high-impact strategic initiatives.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Commercial leadership experience within grocery, retail, e-commerce, or FMCG, with a track record of growth.
  • Proven capability to develop an understanding of our internal and external partners to drive shared success.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing commercial or account management teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to stay committed to achieving goals and profitable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining executive-level relationships with large strategic partners.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with experience leading complex, high-value contractual discussions.
  • Deep understanding of retail trading dynamics, promotional planning, and customer growth strategies.
  • A collaborative leadership style that allows you to aim higher to drive excellence across cross-functional teams.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills, using insights to drive both commercial and operational improvements.
  • A growth mindset with the ability to act responsibly while making a lasting impact on our business.
