Head of Group Reporting and Tax

About the Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Head of Group Reporting leads the group finance function of a publicly listed company.
The role carries end-to-end ownership of the consolidation, statutory and group reporting, audit, tax, transfer pricing and technical accounting cycles, as well as the preparation of management reporting and the financial information released to the market.
The successful candidate combines deep technical IFRS expertise with the rigour and disciplined timelines demanded of a listed entity and is comfortable acting as the senior point of reference for technical accounting matters across the group.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly and quarterly group consolidations, including:
- Intercompany eliminations
- Foreign currency translation
- Consolidation adjustments

Prepare group and standalone (statutory) financial statements compliant with IFRS and applicable local GAAP.

Ensure consolidation processes meet listed group timetables:
- Robust, well-documented, and timely execution

Take full responsibility for group and statutory audits, including:
- Primary liaison with external auditors
- Management of audit planning
- Preparation of audit deliverables
- Resolution of audit queries
- Timely sign-off of financial statements

Maintain a strong control environment:
- Address and remediate audit findings

Manage VAT submissions across the group, ensuring:
- Timely, accurate compliance

Prepare group tax computations and ensure:
- Direct and indirect tax compliance (group and standalone)
- Transfer pricing adjustments
- Compliance with group master files and local transfer pricing documentation

Lead IFRS guidance and technical accounting memos, including:
- Training the wider finance team
- Supporting decision-making on Complex transactions
- Assessing accounting impact from regulatory changes

Provide technical accounting support for M&A activities, such as:
- Due diligence
- Purchase price allocations

Prepare:
- Monthly management accounts
- Management reporting packs (senior management & board)
- Quarterly reports for market release (ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with listing rules)

Communicate insights to support decision-making and market transparency

Collaborate with the:
- Audit Committee (preparing papers & meeting attendance)
- Board (going concern and viability assessments)
- Maintaining financial data integrity and security of systems

Requirements

Qualified accountant (exams: ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)

Significant post-qualification experience in:
- Group finance, reporting or audit roles
- listed environments (preferred)

Strong IFRS expertise (practical consolidate multi-entity groups)

Experience in:
- Statutory audits
- Tax compliance, VAT and transfer pricing

Proven ability to:
- Deliver accurate reporting under tight deadlines
- Interpret and enforce good governance
- Lead technical accounting teams

Strong:
- Analytical & attention-to-detail
- Stakeholder communication
- Discretion (in a listed company setting)
