Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 7 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 20 years.
Purpose Of The Role
The role is a senior leadership role within RA's Finance team, responsible for owning the integrity and delivery of all group financial reporting and maintaining strong financial controls. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will drive robust financial control, consolidation, and reporting across the business, with a focus on strengthening the financial controls framework as the business continues to grow. This role ensures RA meets its obligations to the Board and wider stakeholders while supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Group consolidation & reporting
Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely group consolidated financial statements. Own the month-end close process, ensuring consistent application of accounting policies across all entities. Maintain and continuously improve the group consolidation model and reporting frameworks. Drive the production of annual statutory accounts in accordance with applicable standards. Prepare and present financial reporting packs for the shareholders, providing clear and concise financial narratives that communicate performance and key trends.
Treasury management
Oversee the management of treasury across multiple bank accounts operating in a range of currencies. Monitor and manage foreign exchange exposure, ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place. Maintain oversight of cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning across the group.
External audit management
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the end-to-end audit process. Coordinate audit deliverables across the group, ensuring all supporting documentation is prepared to a high standard. Proactively address audit queries and implement recommendations to strengthen financial controls.
Technical accounting
Act as the group's technical accounting authority, providing guidance on complex accounting matters. Prepare technical accounting papers and position documents for the business where necessary.

Foreign tax compliance
Ensure the group meets its foreign tax reporting obligations across all jurisdictions in which it operates. Liaise with external tax advisors to manage compliance requirements and monitor changes in local tax legislation. Work closely with senior leadership to identify and mitigate tax risks arising from the group's international operations.
People leadership & team development
Directly manage the Financial Controller and indirectly Management Accountant and Payments Administrator. Provide hands-on training and continuous upskilling of the team, ensuring capability keeps pace with the growth of the business. Set clear objectives and foster a culture of accountability and professional development. Act as a key finance business partner, building strong relationships across the organisation.
Commercial support
Support the preparation of financial information packages and data room materials as required. Provide financial reporting expertise to support senior leadership through any commercial processes. Play a leading role in the operational and administrative set-up should RA expand into new territories. Advise on local statutory and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance from day one of operations in any new market.
Essential
We’re looking for:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). Significant post-qualification experience in group financial reporting and consolidation. Proven people management experience, with a track record of leading and developing finance teams. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to shareholder and Board level. High attention to detail and a genuine commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
Desirable
Experience of high volume / low value B2C or B2B2C operating models. Experience working in ticketing operating models. Exposure to multi-currency treasury management and foreign tax compliance. Familiarity with Quickbooks and Fathom.

This role is a permanent position based in London. Please note: This position requires applicants to be based in London and to work from the office three days per week. The annual salary range for this role is £85,000 to £95,000. If you have questions about the role, please contact work@ra.co.
