Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Head of Growth Marketing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving new business acquisition and performance marketing across our insurance products.
You will:
- Lead the development and execution of the annual growth plan.
- Oversee a multi-million-pound budget, with a clear focus on customer acquisition aligned with CPA and LTV:CAC targets.
- Foster a strategic mindset, commercial acumen, analytical rigour, and deep knowledge of digital performance channels.
Collaborate cross-functionally with:

- Product
- Pricing
- Commercial Strategy
To deliver integrated marketing campaigns and maximise growth efficiency.
What You’ll Be Working On
Strategic Growth Planning
- Develop and lead the execution of Zego’s annual growth marketing plan, focusing on driving direct sales volume for our key insurance products: Personal Car, Private Hire, Van, and Delivery.
- Define quarterly growth targets aligned with broader commercial and marketing goals.
- Own and report on critical marketing efficiency metrics, including:
- CPA (Cost Per Acquisition)
- CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost)
- LTV (Lifetime Value)
- ROI (Return On Investment)
Utilisation of AI
- Leverage AI to uncover novel user needs through advanced analysis of:
- Customer data
- Behaviour patterns
- Market signals
- Use AI-driven experimentation to prototype, test, and validate innovative user journeys and growth opportunities:
- Google PMax, AI Max
- Optimise monetisation and retention strategies using:
- AI-powered insights
- Predictive churn prevention (via Predictive LTV Model)
- Continuously translate AI-powered insights into scalable growth initiatives.

Budget Management
- Set and manage the annual growth marketing budget, ensuring spend aligns with high-efficiency channels.
- Conduct monthly forecasting and pacing reviews for optimal media investment.
Performance Marketing Execution
- Own paid acquisition across:
- Paid Search
- Paid Social
- Display
- Programmatic
- Emerging digital channels
- Develop a robust testing roadmap including:
- Creatives
- Audiences
- Channels
- Collaborate with CRM, Brand, Product, and Commercial Strategy leads to ensure:
- Consistent and cohesive messaging
- Aligned funnel strategy
- Build the Marketing Investment Engine to analyse:
- Channel performance
- Develop test-and-learn strategies
- Drive understanding of cause-and-effect relationships
Campaign Planning and Optimisation
- Lead (with Brand) quarterly integrated campaign planning and cross-channel execution.
- Own and prioritise growth initiatives, ensuring alignment with:
- Product launches
- CRM journeys
- Brand initiatives
- Analyse post-campaign results to iterate and improve future efforts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with:
- Head of Brand
- Lead CRM Manager
- Head of Partnerships
- Deeply understand current:
- Pricing strategy
- Underwriting to drive profitable LTV targeting.
- Share channel insights and collaborate on full-funnel growth strategies.
Leadership and Team Development
- Foster a high-performance, test-and-learn culture within the team.
- Champion Marketing’s role in securing appropriate resources based on company priorities.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Trade Craft & Experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience in growth or performance marketing within a high-growth or tech-driven environment.
- Proven track record delivering results across paid channels with business efficiency, including:
- CPA, CAC, ROI
- Strong understanding of acquisition metrics across the customer journey.
- Expertise with key industry tools, including:
- Google Ads
- Meta Ads Manager
- Google Analytics
- Attribution/reporting tools
- Budget management experience with a commercial mindset.
- Stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Collaborative experience with:
- CRM
- Brand
- Product Marketing
- Experience in insurance or financial services is a plus but not essential.
