Head of PLM Growth

An opportunity to take ownership of a new global PLM proposition, close complex enterprise deals and build a significant new revenue stream within a fast-growing software business.

About the company

A profitable, high-growth enterprise software company building modern data and workflow technology for global product development and R&D teams.

The platform helps complex organisations centralise product information, improve collaboration and generate greater value from their technical and operational data.

The business is now expanding its offering within the Product Lifecycle Management market, providing an alternative to established legacy platforms.

Its modern, data-led approach combines configurable workflows, advanced analytics and emerging AI capabilities.

The company has an established international customer base, a rapidly growing UK presence and ambitious plans to continue scaling across Europe and North America.

Several customers already use the platform as a PLM solution, creating a strong foundation from which to establish a dedicated product line and go-to-market strategy.

About the role

Take full commercial ownership of the company’s developing PLM proposition, acting as the primary growth driver for this product line.

  • Manage global enterprise opportunities from qualified lead and initial discovery through demonstrations, commercial negotiation and contract signature.
  • Close complex, six-figure recurring revenue agreements with large organisations across industries such as chemicals, materials, consumer products, food and life sciences.
  • Understand customers’ product development, quality, formulation and data-management processes and map these requirements to the platform.
  • Build compelling commercial cases that demonstrate measurable operational value and return on investment to senior stakeholders.
  • Engage confidently with product, R&D, technology, procurement, legal, information security and executive decision-makers.
  • Navigate enterprise procurement processes and negotiate master services agreements, statements of work and multiyear commercial agreements.
  • Create urgency and clearly position the platform against established PLM providers and legacy technology.
  • Work closely with dedicated business development support while remaining accountable for overall revenue outcomes.
  • Operate as the link between customers and the engineering team, translating market requirements and sales challenges into product priorities.
  • Help refine the positioning, sales process and wider commercial strategy as the company learns from the market.
  • Initially operate as a senior individual contributor, with the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated PLM sales team as the product line grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your previous experience

  • At least two years of meaningful experience within the PLM market, gained through selling, implementing, consulting on or extensively using PLM software.
  • Experience working with PLM solutions supporting complex product development environments rather than fashion, textiles or retail-focused use cases.
  • A strong understanding of the limitations of traditional PLM platforms and the commercial opportunity for modern, flexible and data-led alternatives.
  • Experience managing complex enterprise software or technology sales cycles involving contracts worth £100,000 or more in annual recurring revenue.
  • Evidence of successfully influencing senior and technical stakeholders throughout long, multi-stage buying processes.
  • Comfortable leading detailed discovery conversations and translating complex workflows into clear business outcomes.
  • Able to manage commercial negotiations, procurement, legal reviews and information security requirements.
  • Highly autonomous and comfortable entering a developing market without an established playbook or rigid commission structure.
  • Motivated by building something new rather than inheriting a mature territory or established sales process.
  • Ambitious, commercially driven and capable of moving quickly within a high-growth environment.
  • Open to candidates from both established software businesses and smaller specialist providers, provided you can demonstrate enterprise credibility, pace and ownership.
  • London-based candidates are preferred, although strong applicants based elsewhere in the UK can work remotely.
