Join the Dance Stables Team!
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Head of Gymnastics to lead and grow our expanding gymnastics programme across our primary school clubs and Academy.
Start date: September 2026
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about gymnastics, enjoys working with children and is keen to take ownership of developing a high-quality gymnastics pathway within Dance Stables.
This role requires someone who can commit to the full academic year and is available for term-time hours, as well as occasional holiday workshops.

Pay: From £25.00 per teaching hour, depending on experience, with additional paid leadership responsibilities.
About the Role
Alongside delivering fun, engaging gymnastics sessions for primary-aged children, you’ll take the lead in developing Dance Stables’ gymnastics provision. You’ll teach children of all abilities, from complete beginners through to more experienced gymnasts, helping them develop strength, flexibility, confidence and technique while preparing them for performances and gymnastics competitions.

Leadership Responsibilities
As Head of Gymnastics, you’ll also help to:
- Develop our gymnastics curriculum and progression pathway.
- Plan and support gymnastics showcases and competitions.
- Create engaging lesson plans and resources.
- Support and mentor gymnastics teachers as the programme grows.
- Recommend equipment purchases and help maintain equipment standards.
- Contribute ideas to help grow the gymnastics programme across new schools and venues.
- Attend occasional planning meetings with the Dance Stables leadership team.
Many of these responsibilities can be completed flexibly around your teaching schedule and are expected to require only a small amount of additional time each month.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience teaching gymnastics and/or dance acro.
- Has experience working in primary school settings.
- Is confident leading classes independently.
- Can teach both beginners and more advanced gymnasts.
- Is organised, proactive and keen to take ownership of a growing programme.
- Shares our passion for creating a positive, inclusive and inspiring environment for every child.
- Can commit to the full academic year and term-time schedule.

Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Valid First Aid qualification
- Experience working with primary-aged children
- Experience leading gymnastics and/or dance acro classes
- Reliable transport and ability to travel between venues
Desirable
- Gymnastics coaching qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Dance teaching qualification or relevant coaching experience
- Safeguarding training
- Experience preparing gymnasts for performances or competitions
Recruitment Process
Interviews and trial classes will take place during the weeks commencing 20th July and 27th July as part of our Summer Workshops. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the team, experience the Dance Stables way of teaching and play a key role in shaping the future of our gymnastics programme.
