About Us
Planetree Court Nursing Home is a warm, resident-centred nursing home dedicated to delivering excellent standards of care, comfort, and hospitality. We are now seeking an experienced Head of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping team and maintain exceptional cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across the home.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Head of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping team and ensure our care home maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort for our residents.
This is a key leadership role responsible for creating a welcoming, safe, and well-presented environment that supports resident wellbeing and meets regulatory standards. You will play an important role in infection prevention, environmental quality, and overall resident experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the housekeeping team.
- Plan daily housekeeping operations, including rotas and task allocation.
- Ensure all areas of the home are cleaned and maintained to consistently high standards.
- Oversee laundering of residents’ clothing, bedding, and linens.
- Maintain high presentation standards across the home.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines.
- Maintain cleaning schedules, records, and COSHH documentation.
- Conduct environmental checks and internal audits.
- Ensure safe use, storage, and management of cleaning chemicals.
- Manage stock levels and ordering within budget.
- Build positive relationships with residents and respond to feedback.
- Support marketing and admissions by ensuring the home is always showcase-ready.

Essential:
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a housekeeping leadership role.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of infection control, COSHH, and health & safety.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Office).
- GCSE Maths and English.
Desirable:
- Experience in a care home or clinical environment.
- Additional training in health & safety.
