Salary: Circa £60,000–£70,000 FTE + Benefits (pro rata)

Hybrid Working with regular travel to the Roffey Park Site in Horsham

Part-Time (3 days per week)

About the Role

The Head of HR plays a critical role in leading and overseeing the organisation's people function, ensuring that our people strategy, governance and workforce practices support the achievement of our organisational objectives.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Executive Team and Board committees, the Head of HR provides expert leadership across employee relations, reward and benefits, workforce planning, talent management and organisational development. The role combines strategic oversight with practical leadership, ensuring that HR policies, processes and decisions are compliant, commercially informed and aligned to organisational priorities.

Acting as a trusted adviser and business partner to senior leaders, the Head of HR provides expert guidance on people-related opportunities and risks while helping to build organisational capability, strengthen culture, and ensure that Roffey Park remains an employer of choice.

The Head of HR will manage and develop the established HR team by focusing on building a function that is a strategic partner to the business and supportive of the organisation's objectives and goals.

About You

You will be a credible and experienced HR leader who combines strong professional expertise, empathy, curiosity and excellent judgement.

You should have:

  • Chartered CIPD qualification (Level 7 or equivalent Degree of professional standing).
  • Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR governance and best practice.
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters and organisational change.
  • Experience providing strategic HR advice to senior leadership teams and Boards.
  • Demonstrable experience of workforce planning, organisational design and talent management.
  • Experience overseeing reward, benefits and workforce cost decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and provide commercially focused insights.
  • Experience leading and developing HR teams and creating high-performing workplace cultures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
  • Experience of managing HR suppliers, systems and external advisers.
  • Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft 365 applications and HR information systems.
  • High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism.
  • A commitment to inclusion, employee wellbeing and continuous improvement.
