Head of HR & Workforce Strategy
Hybrid | UK (Primarily Watford Head Office)
£50,000 - £70,000 + OTE
Lead the people strategy behind one of the UK's leading infrastructure recruitment businesses.
At MSSI, people are at the heart of everything we do. As we continue to grow and evolve, we're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of HR & Workforce Strategy to shape and lead our people agenda across the business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll play a key strategic role in helping us achieve our business objectives by developing a high-performing, engaged and inclusive workforce. This is an opportunity to influence board-level decisions while remaining hands-on in delivering exceptional HR leadership across the organisation.
What you'll be doing
As Head of HR & Workforce Strategy, you'll:
- Develop and deliver our people strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead on all aspects of employee relations, providing expert advice to managers across the business.
- Drive performance management, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Oversee recruitment processes in partnership with our Digital Communications & Recruitment Director.
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and employment practices remain compliant and reflect best practice.
- Lead organisational change, restructuring, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Manage HR systems, reporting, and people data to support informed decision-making.
- Champion learning and development across the business.
- Lead our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy.
- Develop and drive our Social Value and Apprenticeship strategies.
- Act as the company's Data Protection Officer, ensuring GDPR compliance and leading data protection initiatives.

About you
We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery.
You'll ideally have:
- Significant HR leadership experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience managing complex employee relations matters.
- A track record of developing and implementing people strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience influencing senior leaders and supporting organisational change.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative, approachable leadership style with the confidence to challenge where appropriate.
- Experience leading EDI, Social Value, or Apprenticeship initiatives would be advantageous.
