The Role
As Head of ESH&Q, you will lead the organisation’s Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality function, ensuring governance, compliance, and proactive risk management. You will oversee ESH&Q strategies, promote a strong safety culture, and deliver assurance through audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Fostering continuous improvement
- Managing external stakeholder relationships
- Guiding teams to maintain ISO accreditation standards
- Driving environmental initiatives
- Supporting the organisation’s vision of sustainability and net-zero goals
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Proven expertise in leading HSEQ functions within a high-hazard industry, ideally nuclear, decommissioning, or waste management.
- Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and leading organisational change.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and translate complex technical information into clear guidance.
- A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification is essential. Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
- Experience in conducting audits, assurance activities, and risk management aligned with legal and regulatory frameworks.
- This role requires DV security clearance; only apply if you are eligible and prepared to undergo the necessary process.
