Head of HR

Lead end-to-end people operations, from payroll to employee relations, while shaping a positive, compliant and supportive environment. You’ll own the full HR lifecycle in a standalone role, giving managers practical support and ensuring processes, systems and benefits work smoothly for everyone. This role exists to keep people practices aligned with the organisation’s values and goals, and to help make it a genuinely great place to work.

Location: Warrington

Working pattern: Monday to Friday (hybrid available)

Hours: 37.5 per week

About the role

As the HR Manager, you’ll provide both strategic and hands-on HR leadership across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders and managers to support engagement, performance, and development, while maintaining strong compliance and high-quality HR operations.

What you’ll do

  • Collate and process monthly payroll information and liaise with an external payroll provider, including pension reporting and administration.
  • Manage reward and recognition, including private healthcare, life assurance, salary sacrifice schemes and the buy/sell holiday scheme.
  • Oversee HR administration, including HR inbox and Teams communications, gifts/vouchers, and ad hoc HR tasks.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding: advertise roles, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, manage third parties, and oversee offers, contracts, references and induction.
  • Conduct right to work checks and arrange psychometric testing with external providers.
  • Support performance management and succession planning, including development pathways and management training.
  • Oversee learning and development activity, including LMS compliance modules, training programmes and training agreements.
  • Own the HR system, ensuring accurate records for holidays, salaries, absences, overtime and employee data, and share reports with stakeholders.
  • Manage employment relations cases, coaching managers, handling investigations and ensuring compliant, timely resolutions.
  • Review and update HR policies and lead Diversity, Equality and Inclusion initiatives, including forums such as neurodiversity support.
  • Coordinate ISO management system activity and annual audits from an HR perspective.
  • Manage offboarding, including exit interviews, leaver processes and calculation of outstanding pay and holiday.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and programmes aligned with business goals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
