You'll lead a professional, responsive and values-led HR service that empowers managers, supports staff fairly, and enables us to operate with confidence across two jurisdictions. Your leadership will ensure our promise to the people we support is backed by a strong, engaged and capable workforce.
- Strategic ownership: Own the People Strategy as a core part of our Corporate Plan, and act as a senior professional adviser to our Senior Leadership Team and Directors.
- One integrated team: Lead professional responsibility for an integrated HR Department across Northern Ireland and Ireland. The service brings together core Human Resources, learning and development, staff engagement and resourcing as one connected team.

📍 Bangor / Hybrid - This role will require travel throughout the island of Ireland to meet the needs of the role, alongside hybrid working from our Head Office in Bangor.

About The Role
This is a senior HR leadership role with real reach - one strategy, one integrated team, two jurisdictions, and a mission that gives it all meaning.
As Head of Human Resources, you'll be at the helm of our integrated HR Department, holding professional responsibility for everything from employee relations, absence and formal performance management, to learning and development, staff engagement and resourcing - across Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Day to day, you'll:
- Provide expert strategic advice to our Senior Leadership Team
- Lead significant people programmes from start to finish
- Ensure our HR practice is legally sound, person-centred and aligned to best practice in both jurisdictions
- Embed and lead our HR business partner model, so managers and staff experience one trusted, joined-up service rather than a fragmented one
You'll lead a dedicated team including our Resourcing and Engagement Specialist, our Learning and Development Manager, and our HR Policy, Compliance and Assurance Specialist - setting direction, building capability, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture within the department itself.
This is a role with genuine scope for impact. You'll shape the People Strategy, drive organisational change, and use insight and evidence to improve outcomes for our workforce over time. And because of the nature of what we do, you'll see the results of that work reflected directly in the lives of the people we support - real choice, real control, real change.

Required Criteria
- Level 7 qualification in Human Resource Management
- At least three years’ operating in a senior HR leadership role in a complex organisation, evidenced by leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams and managing a budget with a focus on value for money.
- Experience of developing, owning and delivering organisation-wide people or HR Objectives, evidenced by clear priorities, delivery and measurable improvement in workforce outcomes.
- Experience of applying expert, current employment law and employee relations knowledge, including experience of leading complex, high-risk casework and significant organisational change such as restructuring, consultation or TUPE.
- Experience of acting as a credible senior adviser to executive leaders and boards, communicating complex people and employment matters clearly and influencing decisions.
