Head of HR Operations

RICS is seeking a Head of HR Operations to take the lead in our HR Operations, Employee Relations, and People Operations service. This is a key leadership role, overseeing employee relations, HR systems, HR data, payroll processes, service delivery, and operational improvement.

About the Role

You will:

  • Lead and manage a UK and India-based HR Operations team in delivering a dependable, professional, and unified service globally.
  • Focus on leading, coaching, and developing the team while strengthening employee relations, improving data and insights, and enhancing the employee and manager experience.

This hybrid role, based in Birmingham with 60% office and 40% remote work, includes meeting and collaborating across UK offices as needed.

About RICS: RICS is a global professional body shaping how land, property, and infrastructure are developed and managed. By setting trusted standards, we enable professionals to work with integrity and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the full HR Operations, Employee Relations (ER), and People Operations service across RICS.
  • Provide expert advice on complex HR matters, including investigations, grievances, discipline, absence, performance management, and organisational change.
  • Coach leaders on managing ER internally with fairness, consistency, and effectiveness.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR team, expanding capabilities across employee relations, HR systems, service delivery, and data.

Core Duties

  • Oversee operational HR activities throughout the employee lifecycle (onboarding, payroll processes, offboarding, and changes).
  • Enhance HR data collection, reporting, and insight for trend identification and decision-making.
  • Optimise HR processes, systems, and self-service tools via efficient technology solutions, including AI and automation.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and smooth HR and payroll processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
