Job description
Are you a Head of IT? My client who is a leading UK engineering and services group specialising in water management and infrastructure solutions are looking for a Head of IT, someone who is organised and has a good personality.

Job Description
- Manage and optimise IT service delivery by owning the MSP relationship, overseeing service levels, KPIs, incident management, vendor performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and develop the IT function through team management, coaching, performance improvement, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Drive IT strategy and governance by supporting the technology roadmap, managing budgets, software licensing, assets, supplier contracts, and IT risk management.
- Oversee core technology platforms and security including IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and key business systems such as Sage 200 and Salesforce.
- Deliver technology-enabled business change by leading IT workstreams in transformation projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and reporting on IT performance, risks, and opportunities.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Extensive senior IT leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading IT functions and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong vendor and service management expertise, including managing MSPs, third-party technology suppliers, contracts, budgets, and commercial negotiations.
- Broad technical knowledge across Microsoft 365 (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune), Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITIL) and experience delivering effective IT services within complex, multi-site or multi-entity organisations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and drive successful business outcomes.
