Job Description Summary
Role Purpose
The Partner/Head of Cushman & Wakefield Insurance Services will lead the Insurance Services Team and ensure that a professional Property Insurance Service is provided to both internal and external clients by the Insurance Services Team. The Head is required to observe and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Company's compliance manual and as set out in any notices issued to the Head from time to time by the Company's Compliance officer, which are necessitated by the Company's regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority. As the Head will be an FCA Approved Person, the Head is required to discharge their obligations as required under the regulatory system.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Responsibility: The Head has management responsibility for the Insurance Services Team and responsibility for the insurance related revenue budget.
- Budgeting and Billing: The Head will also have specific job cost budgeting and will ensure billing to clients and insurers. The main Departmental cost budget remains the responsibility of the Head’s Line Manager and will be agreed in conjunction with the Head.
- Payments Authorization: The Head will be mandated to authorise for payments via the Bank of America “Cashpro” system to Suppliers and Clients, in accordance with C & W’s standard arrangements.
- Client and Insurer Relations: The Head will be required to deal with all Clients and Insurers with no maximum value as regards placing of insurance or dealing with claims. The Head will be responsible for deciding whether or not to accept any type of appointment.
- Commercial Mindedness: The Head will be required to be commercially minded to ensure added value insurance products are available to meet the market place demand from Clients and must have the ability to compete competitively in the market place.
- Insurance Companies: The Head will be required to ensure that the Insurance Companies used are able to deliver the appropriate service and comply with the required Credit Rating requirements.
- Relationship Building: The Head will be required to build and maintain relationships with Surveyors, Client Managers, as well as Insurance Industry contacts.
- Financial Submissions: The Head in conjunction with C & W’s Compliance Officer will ensure that the relevant regular Financial Submissions to FCA are completed on time in accordance with the FCA requirements.
- Insurance Placement and Renewals: The Director will need to ensure that all insurance is placed at the appropriate time and renewals are issued in accordance with FCA guidelines.
- Staff Engagement Initiatives: Implementing and running initiatives to improve staff engagement from annual TLC staff engagement survey in conjunction with the Head of Customer Experience.

Qualifications
- Language Proficiency: Strong command of both spoken and written English (mandatory).
- Professional Designation: Associate/Fellow of Chartered Insurance Institute (desirable).
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience: 15 years + experience in operational role.
- Property Insurance: Detailed knowledge of commercial property insurance.
- Skills: Negotiating & line management skills.
- Teamwork: Demonstrable teamwork experience - needs to have a strong sense of responsibility for the success of the team.
- Communication: Ability to demonstrate experience in a range of communications media both internally and externally focused.
- Compliance: Knowledge of FCA compliance requirements.
Skills & Personal Qualities
- Communication: Excellent communication skills are a “must”, as you will be dealing with Insurers, Loss Adjusters, internal and external clients on a regular basis.
- Professionalism: Calm, diplomatic, and professional approach to work and colleagues.
- Legal Compliance: The Partner/Head must not have (or must report) any convictions, not be subject to disciplinary action by regulators, not be subject to civil cases or prior disqualifications.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional Word and PowerPoint formatting skills and Excel numeracy and formula understanding.
- Excellent presentation and influencing skills.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail, with a focus on understanding client requirements.
- Work Ethic: Meticulous, patient and persevering.
- Communication: Ability to communicate at different levels of the organisation.
- Time Management: Strong time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Motivation: Focused, self-motivated and results oriented.
- Proactivity: Proactive nature with an ability to show initiative.
- Teamwork: Capable of managing and working with diverse teams across multiple disciplines.

- Professionalism: Constantly portray a professional image to Insurers, internal and external Clients and Consultants in person and in all communications.
