About the Role
We're supporting a respected public sector organisation in the search for an experienced Chief Internal Auditor to lead a high-profile internal audit function. This is an excellent opportunity to shape audit strategy, influence senior stakeholders and provide independent assurance across a complex and evolving environment.
Responsibilities
Leading a small team, you'll:
- Develop and deliver a risk-based audit plan
- Present findings to senior leadership and governance committees
- Provide trusted advice on governance, risk management, and internal controls
- Build strong relationships across the organisation
- Drive continuous improvement and professional standards

Requirements
We're looking for a qualified CCAB or CMIIA (or equivalent) professional with:
- Significant internal audit leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of governance and risk frameworks
- The confidence to engage and influence at executive level

Work Arrangement
This role can be worked predominantly remotely, with only one day a week expected in the office in Berkshire.
Eligibility
Applicants must have full rights to work in the UK and relevant UK-based experience. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
