Head of Internal Enterprise Communications

Head of Global Enterprise Internal Communications

About the Role

As Head of Global Enterprise Internal Communications, you will lead the internal content strategy, content creation, and communications approach for GSK. You will lead a team of five communications professionals to execute a strategic shift in internal communications to a leader-led approach, with simplified messaging and content, and insight-led delivery.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner closely with business leaders across the enterprise
  • Play a critical active role in the Strategic Portfolio Planning (SPP) LT and the Internal Communications LT
  • Ensure we drive product-centricity in the organisation through our communications
  • Operate at pace while demonstrating strong leadership skills, business understanding (including product knowledge), digital fluency, exceptional storytelling skills, and the ability to influence and lead others.

Key Responsibilities

This position leads the Global Enterprise Internal Communications team (team of six in total) and reports to the VP, Internal Communication and Global Functions. The role is accountable for:

  • Leading the Enterprise Internal Communications team, building a strong collaborative culture, supporting development, and providing focus, clarity, and direction.
  • Driving a "step change in internal communications" at GSK by developing and delivering focused, creative content and editorial plans to:
    • Embed company priorities
    • Build confidence in the organisation
    • Engage the workforce effectively
  • Partnering with the VP, Internal Communications to lead the transition to a leader-led communications model (collaborating with CGA colleagues and business leaders, supporting capability building, and delivering simple content)
  • Engaging continuously with SPPструтура to enhance product and pipeline internal communications:
    • Building understanding and support at all levels
    • Contributing strategic insights to shape plans
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent, engaging content across all enterprise channels while maintaining high editorial standards:
    • Aligning communicate with the corporate story
    • Directing resources toward the activities that offer maximum impact
  • Managing and coordinating content/news flow to minimise 'noise' and focus efforts on critical priorities
  • Championing the use of AI, insights, and metrics to measure and optimise the impact of global content/public campaigns.

Required Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking an experienced communications professional with the following attributes:

  • Exceptional creative content development skills:
    • Strong writing and oral communication ability
    • Proficiency in storytelling, video, and visual asset creation
    • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to tailor messaging for varied geographies/audiences
  • Exceptional influencing and coaching skills when engaging high-level leaders.
    • Capacity to effect scalable change
  • Discretion and autonomy in handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Building resilience and adaptability to function effectively in high-pressure environments.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience in internal communications within complex international organisations and at senior leadership levels.
  • Deep understanding of GSK, with either product communications experience or an in-depth grasp of our full portfolio and pipeline.
  • Capability to lead and develop high-performing teams across various locations and time zones.
  • Proven track record of translating corporate strategy into engaging, accessible language for frontline colleagues.

Location and Working Model

This role is based at GSK’s central London HQ, following a hybrid working model. Expect to work at the office on-site 2-3 days per week.
