Head of International Communications – Ohme

Ohme is on a mission to accelerate the global transition to clean, affordable energy. We do that by serving as an integrated hardware and software smart-grid platform, focused on the residential EV charging market. The Role

Ohme is seeking an Head of International Communications to act as a strategic partner to the Mobility Director, leveraging communications, media engagement, public affairs, and thought leadership to strengthen Ohme’s global standing. You’ll represent the company at major industry events, conferences, and stakeholder forums, fostering relationships with:

  • Policymakers and regulators
  • Fleet organisations and industry associations
  • Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Analysts and key stakeholders

Your core responsibility is to build and execute Ohme’s international external affairs strategy, amplifying our reputation and influence across priority markets through commercial, technical, and policy narratives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Media & Public Affairs: Engage internationally with business, automotive, and energy media outlets; shape coverage aligned with Ohme’s commercial objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate high-level relationships with regulators, policymakers, industry bodies, and analysts.
  • Exhibitions & Events: Lead Ohme’s presence at global industry forums to expand partnerships and showcase innovation.
  • Thought Leadership: Develop and disseminate authoritative content (articles, reports, expert contributions) to position Ohme as a leader in EV smart grid solutions.
  • Commercial Support: Agilely align communications strategies to reinforce sales campaigns and regulatory demands.
  • Colaboration: Partner cross-functionally with teams in product, policy, and customer success.

You’ll clear structures, foster connection-building between technical and executive aims, and ensure clarity and coherence externally.


Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years in external affairs, strategic communications, or public affairs.
  • Proven ability to secure connections with prominent automotive, business, or energy media outlets, including tier-1:
    • Financial publications (e.g., Bloomberg, Financial Times; sector specific titles like EV Hub, EE Times)
    • Fleet/NCD sector analysts (دراسات و هواة السوق منصات مثل saVvy, IHS Markit, Guidehouse)
  • Demonstratable experience spanning multiple international markets.
  • Hands-on experience supporting sales or commercial objectives through public affairs and policy engagement.
  • Deep expertise in corporate-level social media strategy (with campaign planning and crisis preparedness).
  • Strong writer in English, adept at balancing executive voice, technical details and public-facing messaging.
  • Digitally proficient—comfortable integrating AI tools into workflows.

Strongly Preferred

  • Fluency (or native/proficiency) in European languages (key markets include Germany, Netherlands, Spain/France).
  • Prior in-market experience in non-English regions (EU/non-EU alike).
  • Industry background spanning automotive, EV/DC charging, or energy transition technical/commercial.
  • Experience shaping and implementing external profiles for C-level or senior leadership.
