Base Location: London, Dublin, Perth or Glasgow (with regular travel)

Salary: £competitive + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role

This is a senior role at the forefront of SSE’s engagement with the global investment community. As Head of Investor Relations, you will take ownership for the delivery and execution of SSE’s investor relations strategy, shaping how the Group is understood, valued and positioned in the public markets.

Acting as deputy to the Director of Investor Relations, you will work with significant autonomy, leading investor engagement, developing key relationships, and representing SSE externally. Working closely with the CEO and CFO, you will play a central role in major market communications, strategic messaging and executive decision support.

You Will

  • Build and lead relationships with a defined segment of the investor and analyst community, acting as a primary external representative of SSE
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of investor communications, including results, trading updates, presentations and investor events, with accountability for quality and impact
  • Shape and evolve SSE’s equity story, influencing how strategy, financial performance and ESG positioning are articulated to the market
  • Generate and present market insight directly to senior leadership, using financial and market analysis to inform key business decisions
  • Lead roadshows, conferences and investor engagement activity, confidently presenting to external audiences and building SSE’s market credibility

You Have

  • Extensive experience in investor relations, financial communications or corporate finance, with a proven track record of high-impact engagement
  • Deep understanding of financial markets, valuation, accounting and regulatory requirements in a listed environment
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to own and deliver senior-level messaging
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience translating complex financial and strategic issues into clear insight
  • Demonstrated ability to lead at pace, operate with autonomy, and influence senior stakeholders across a large organisation

Our Investor Relations team manage the relationship between SSE and its shareholders through ongoing communication with analysts, proxy advisers, ESG ratings agencies and financial agencies. This improves disclosure and ensures our shareholders have access to the information they need to assess SSE's performance.
