Head of IT - Merchanting Division, Lords Group Trading
Location: Flexible, with regular travel to our branches and support centres as required.

Are you an experienced IT leader who understands how technology can transform a multi-site operational business? Do you enjoy balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery? We're looking for a Head of Merchanting IT to lead technology across our Merchanting Division. This is a key leadership role, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure our systems, infrastructure and digital capabilities continue to support the growth and success of the business.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and delivering the IT strategy for our Merchanting Division.
- Leading and developing the divisional IT team while fostering a first-class service culture.
- Owning and continuously improving our core ERP, trading and branch systems.
- Driving digital transformation projects that improve efficiency, customer experience and commercial performance.
- Ensuring our infrastructure, cloud services and cyber security remain robust, resilient and fit for the future.
- Managing third-party technology partners and suppliers to deliver exceptional service.
- Working closely with operational, commercial and finance teams to deliver technology solutions that make a real difference.
- Managing the IT budget and developing business cases for future investment.

What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical leadership with commercial awareness and excellent stakeholder management.
You'll Ideally Have
- Experience leading IT within a multi-site operational business.
- A strong understanding of ERP and branch-based trading systems.
- Experience managing infrastructure, cloud technologies and cyber security.
- A track record of leading teams through change and delivering technology projects successfully.
- The ability to communicate confidently with colleagues at every level, from branch teams to Board Directors.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and a passion for continuous improvement.
Experience within builders' merchants, distribution, wholesale or another fast-paced multi-site environment would be highly advantageous.
