Head of IT – Infrastructure, Leadership, Applications, ITSM, Cloud, Digital Transformation, M&A, CyberSec, Suppliers, 3rd Parties, Governance, Budgets, ISO, Cyber Essential, AI, Automation, Azure, Hybrid (4d/w London)
This is an exceptional permanent Head of IT opportunity to join a growing tech organisation undergoing significant technology, operational and business transformation.
The Head of IT role is Hybrid with 4 days a week on site in Farringdon and the other day working from home. Therefore, you must be based at a commutable distance.
As Head of IT, you will lead the strategic and operational management of the IT function across Applications, Infrastructure and IT Service Management, ensuring secure, reliable, scalable and cost-effective technology services across the business. The Head of IT will have the manager from each pillar (Infra, Apps, Service) report into them, so previous leadership of a similar level is essential. The Head of IT will also manage 3rd parties and suppliers including SLAs etc across these areas driving operational excellence and support the organisation’s digital transformation roadmap. The Head of IT will work closely with counterparts - Head of Cyber Security and Head of IT PMO and business leadership to ensure technology services align to business objectives, regulatory requirements and long-term transformation plans. The Head of IT will also play a key role in M&A activity, Implementations (Including AI & CyberSec) and general transformations and modernisations. As Head of IT any experience with AI, M&A is beneficial. Strong M365, Prince2, ITIL and governance/security is essential. Strong senior IT leadership, stakeholder management, supplier governance, budget control and transformation experience are essential as Head of IT.

Key skills as Head of IT
- Significant experience as Head of IT overseeing Infrastructure (M365) Apps, Security & Services
- Managed service provider governance across Infrastructure and Service Desk
- Cloud, infrastructure, Azure, networking, identity and modern workplace technologies
- Enterprise applications, ERP, HR, collaboration, data and productivity platforms
- Digital transformation, automation, orchestration and AI adoption
- M&A due diligence, integration, separation and transition planning
- Budget control, vendor management, supplier performance and commercial governance
- ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, GDPR and operational risk management
- Executive stakeholder management, business partnering and senior communication
- Prince2, PMP or similar
- ITIL
