About The Team
SumUp's European Key Account Sales team is at a genuine inflection point. We've built a dedicated team of 25 sales professionals across the UK, Italy, Spain, and Germany, focused on winning high-value merchants in the Hospitality, Retail, and Beauty sectors — and now we need the right leader to take it to the next level. This is a newly created role, designed to bring dedicated, specialised leadership to a team that has the talent and the market opportunity to become a dominant force in European Key Account sales. As Head of Key Account Sales, you'll own the European revenue target, unify four distinct markets under one strategic playbook, and build the kind of high-performing culture that consistently wins complex, high-value deals.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop Key Account Team Leads across the UK and Germany, driving pipeline accuracy, professional growth, and a high-performance culture
- Own the European Key Account revenue target, with a clear focus on securing and growing merchant partnerships with a monthly Total Processing Volume of €50k+
- Define and refine the Key Account playbook across all four markets, ensuring the team is consistently targeting the right profiles in Hospitality, Retail, and Beauty
- Partner closely with Product, Marketing, and Solutions Engineering to sharpen SumUp's value proposition for large-scale European merchants
- Establish a structured management rhythm across Team Leads — including weekly forecasts and monthly business reviews — focused on high-value deal progression
What We're Looking For…
- A proven track record as a senior outbound sales leader, with significant experience in a closing role as an individual contributor before moving into leadership.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing sales teams, including leading remotely across multiple markets or regions.
- Strong coaching ability, with a track record of developing Team Leads and improving both pipeline quality and sales performance.
- Comfort working with outbound sales tools such as MixMax, Lusha, LinkedIn Sales Navigator & Salesforce.
- Strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to unify distinct markets under one playbook while adapting to local nuances.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
