Head of Legal
£120,000 - £130,000 + Benefits London | Hybrid | International Travel
We're partnering with a growing, PE-backed international engineering and project services business looking to appoint an experienced Head of Legal.
This is the most senior legal role in the Group and offers a genuine opportunity to help shape the future of the business.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, you'll work closely with the Executive Team and Board, providing commercially focused legal advice while leading and developing the legal function across Europe.
This isn't a role where you'll simply review contracts.
You'll become a trusted adviser to the leadership team, supporting international growth, acquisitions, governance and strategic decision-making across a complex, fast-paced business.
If you enjoy variety, autonomy and being close to the commercial heartbeat of an organisation, this is a fantastic opportunity.
The Role
- Lead and develop the Group Legal function across multiple European countries.
- Partner with the Board, Group CFO and Executive Team on commercial and strategic legal matters.
- Draft, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial contracts, framework agreements and strategic partnerships.
- Support acquisitions, legal due diligence, integrations and wider corporate projects.
- Lead governance, compliance, company secretarial and regulatory matters across the Group.
- Advise on employment law, disputes, litigation and the management of external legal counsel.
- Identify opportunities to improve legal processes through AI, technology and automation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Europe, providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
