We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Lending. Role purpose - This role is responsible for leading and managing the WPS retail lending business across IWPB markets and covers credit cards , mortgages and personal loan products.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities Delivery of IWPB Retail lending P&L Embedding best in class retail lending products across Premier and Emerging affluent segments. Leading the WPS Lending value stream for retail lending change Product governance and risk management for all retail lending products. Leadership & Teamwork The role provides leadership to the global and country retail lending teams. The role needs deep engagement with global stakeholders across CCO , WPS , Risk and compliance teams. The role needs deep engagement with the country and regional leadership teams across IWPB. Functional Knowledge Expertise in retail lending products including in depth understanding of P&L dynamics. Strong knowledge of working with technology to deliver complex projects across multiple markets. Deep understanding of the regulatory landscape across IWPB markets as related to retail lending products. Role Attributes Experience - Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within multiple disciplines or a fast changing discipline. Business / Commercial knowledge - The role requires a comprehensive understanding of several value units / products / regions / legal entities, alongside an advanced understanding of the industry and the relative positioning of the HSBC's products and services. Leadership - Management responsibilities for a sizeable team of professionals (including responsibility for budget, and planning). Problem Solving - Covers a wide range of diverse activities that require complex judgements and solutions based on conceptual thought and strategic vision and analysis. Innovation - Is proactive in developing ideas, continuously searching for improvements in techniques which add value to the business and has full responsibility for implementation. Accountability / decision making - Latitude to make decisions within the objectives of HSBC global business / global function overall. Little guidance is available and role holder is expected to formulate strategy following the objectives of the business. Strategic Responsibility - Sets strategy for value unit / region / product / legal entity. Communication - The role holder must possess a high level of sensitivity to the audience, be able to modify the beliefs and opinions of others, and negotiate with significant latitude for the final outcome. The job is likely to be involved in both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the function, and possibly the entire business unit. The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
