What we are seeking:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Solicitor to join and lead our established Litigation team. This role is ideal for a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a strong background in civil and commercial litigation, who is adept at managing a complex and varied caseload from inception through to trial or settlement.

What you would be expected to do:

  • Handle a broad spectrum of disputes, including breach of contract, landlord tenant, professional negligence, partnership and shareholder conflicts, and defamation.
  • Assess case merits, identify litigation risks, and develop robust, client-focused strategies.
  • Preparing clear and persuasive pleadings, applications, witness statements, and skeleton arguments.
  • Provide clear, concise, and commercially astute advice to clients, ensuring they are consistently well-informed and managed throughout the litigation process.
  • Represent clients at interim hearings, case management conferences, and in alternative dispute resolution settings such as mediation.
  • Work efficiently under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Commit to business development and contribute to the profile of the Litigation team.
  • Bring an established clientele or otherwise new clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Provide excellent client care and maintain client satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with litigation laws and regulations.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure competent file management, including using computerized case management systems.
  • Achieve billing targets and ensure effective billing processes.

What we expect you to have:

  • Qualified solicitor in litigation with a minimum 3-5 years PQE.
  • A valid practising certificate from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
  • A thorough, practical understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and experience navigating the County Court and High Court systems.
  • Proven track record in successfully handling litigation cases.
  • Proactive team player who can work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong advocacy, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong client acquisition and relationship management skills.
  • Goal-oriented and the ability to meet billing targets.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
