✨ The Opportunity
Two pivotal leadership roles are open to shape the future of one of the UK’s most diverse holiday destination portfolios. As Head of Long Haul or Head of Short Haul, you’ll have a bold mandate:
- Accelerate change to deliver the next phase of our destination strategies.
- Embed new ways of working while building on our strong team foundations.
- Drive exponential growth through technology, automation, and AI-driven insights.
Reporting to the Head of Product & Sourcing, you’ll lead either Long Haul or Short Haul portfolios—primarily through British Airways Holidays, with opportunities to expand into additional markets.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You’ll define and execute our forward-thinking strategy, balanced with day-to-day operations:
- Charting future growth opportunities, identifying where to invest.
- Modernising workflows and proactively adopting AI and automation.
- Shaping a customer-first commercial approach, optimising destinations and contracts.
- Leading a team through transformation, ensuring alignment with our evolving business model.
- Collaborating with counterpart and the broader leadership team to create unified strategic outcomes.

🌠What You’ll Be Doing
Drive Growth & Portfolio Performance
- Benchmark where the biggest commercial uplifts will come from, turning market insights into actionable strategies.
- Prioritise investments based on value potential, ensuring optimal destination selection and development.
Lead Commercial Strategy & Partnerships
- Revolutionise contracting approaches—challenging old norms to deliver cost savings and efficiency gains.
- Assume key negotiations as a senior leadership partner, deepening supply chain relationships.
Champion Transformation While Maintaining BAU
- Ensure business as usual continues alongside evolutions in workflows, tech, and operational structures.
Lead Team Transformation
- Build a high-performance team in a rapidly changing environment.
- Strengthen adaptability, delivery focus, and customer-centric decision-making.
- Foster collaborative leadership, shaping a function that embodies shared purpose and cross-team synergy.

Leadership & Change Capability
- Proven senior leadership: Experience in uniting teams around transformation visions while sustaining high performance.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and navigate evolving priorities, even when direction shifts.
- A delivery-focused temperament with agility, pragmatism, and a relentless drive to anticipate and adapt.
Commercial & Strategic Mastery
- Impactful commercial record: Measurable growth in sales, profit, margin, or portfolio expansion.
- Strategic pragmatism: Balancing innovation and execution, knowing where to invest, optimise, and challenge.
- Expertise in product and sourcing strategy (or both).
Influence & Stakeholder Management
- Authenticity and credibility: Build trust quickly, exert influence—internally and externally.
- Collaborative unanimity: Align complex stakeholders, troubleshoot problems dynamically, and translate ideas into action.
- Mastery of constructive challenge and creating momentum.

Experience & Mindset
- Senior leadership in product, sourcing, destinations, or commercial teams within the travel sector.
- Insider’s knowledge of managing or growing portfolios, understanding the nuances of long-haul vs. short-haul dynamics.
- Tech-savvy: A passion for automation, AI, and smarter workflows to unlock growth efficiencies.
Role Structure
- Head Office Base: Crawley, UK
- Work Patel: Hybrid model (2 days in office, 3 days from home).
- Travel: Occasional, rotating annually to support stakeholder needs and strategic reviews.
