We have been retained by a scaling Private Equity-backed Life Sciences business who are seeking a Head of M&A while they continue to deliver against an aggressive inorganic growth strategy across Europe.
The Opportunity
As Head of M&A, you will own the full deal lifecycle, from defining strategy and building target pipelines through to execution, integration support, and value creation. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing strategic thinking with executional excellence with ability of acquiring founder-led business.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute the business's M&A strategy
- Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of acquisition opportunities across Europe
- Develop relationships with founders, owners, and management teams of target businesses
- Lead origination activities, including proactive outreach and cold calling
- Conduct financial analysis, valuation, and transaction modelling
- Prepare and negotiate IOIs, LOIs, and transaction documentation
- Manage due diligence processes and coordinate external advisors
- Support post-acquisition integration and synergy realisation
- Establish a repeatable M&A engine that supports long-term platform growth

About You
We are seeking a high-calibre M&A professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with commercial instinct and relationship-building skills.
Essential Experience

- 4-7+ years of M&A experience gained within Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Transaction Services, Private Equity, or a similar environment
- Proven transaction execution experience across the full deal lifecycle
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills
- Experience engaging with founders and owner-managed businesses - essential
- Ability to independently lead workstreams and deliver results with limited oversight
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to be hands-on and operate as an individual contributor
Preferred Experience
- Life sciences or healthcare experience
- Experience in a private equity-backed business
- Exposure to post-merger integration and value-creation initiatives
