Head of Maintenance - Job Specification

You'll be joining a well-established, community-focused housing provider known for delivering high-quality homes and excellent tenant satisfaction. The organisation manages a diverse housing portfolio and is committed to continuous improvement, strong customer service, and investment in its communities.
Your new role
As Head of Maintenance, you will lead the organisation's maintenance service, ensuring efficient, responsive, and compliant delivery across reactive repairs, planned and cyclical works, and major improvement projects. You will manage the maintenance team, oversee contractor performance, ensure full compliance with all homeowner safety requirements, contribute to asset management and long-term investment planning, and provide strategic advice to senior leadership.

What you'll need to succeed
- A professional or technical qualification in construction or maintenance
- At least 5 years' experience in maintenance or development services
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills
- Proven experience managing budgets, contractors, and compliance regimes
- Up-to-date knowledge of building safety, regulatory requirements, and housing sector best practice
- A customer-focused, motivated, and improvement-driven approach
