Great news! We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Maintenance to join our Maintenance Team. This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

This isn’t a standard Head of Maintenance role. This is a high-impact transformation opportunity to take an already strong operation at our Leyland site and turn it into a best-in-class, future-ready maintenance function.

You’ll join the business as a key member of the Site Leadership Team, shaping strategy, driving cultural change, and building the capability needed to deliver sustainable, world-class performance.

Your Responsibilities

Shape Culture & Capability

  • Create a high-performance, accountable and engaged engineering culture
  • Develop leaders who can sustain and build on the transformation
  • Build a strong succession pipeline and long-term capability across the team

Transform Performance

  • Lead the shift to a fully proactive, reliability-led maintenance model
  • Deliver step-change improvements in OEE, uptime, and asset performance
  • Set and embed standards that define “what great looks like”

Drive Strategic Change

  • Translate business strategy into a clear, compelling maintenance vision
  • Lead large-scale change programmes across systems, processes and behaviours
  • Build a function that is fit for the future—digitally enabled, data-led and continuously improving

Own Performance & Investment

  • Lead the maintenance budget with a sharp focus on value and efficiency
  • Reduce reactive spend and improve cost per unit
  • Identify and deliver targeted investment to unlock performance

Lead Through Collaboration

  • Partner across Production, Quality, HSE and Supply Chain to deliver site objectives
  • Influence at senior level to drive alignment and pace
  • Champion a culture of ownership, accountability and teamwork

What You Bring

  • A proven leader with a strong track record of delivering cultural and capability transformation in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading strategic change programmes, not just maintaining performance
  • Deep understanding of reliability, asset care, and operational excellence
  • A people-first leader who can engage, challenge and inspire teams
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience owning budgets and driving cost improvement
  • The presence and credibility to operate at senior leadership level
