Head of Maintenance
Head of Maintenance – London-based Organisation
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Maintenance to join a leading London-based organisation, overseeing the maintenance and operational performance of a large, complex estate.
Reporting into the senior estates leadership team, you’ll lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance through outsourced Hard Facilities Management (FM) providers, ensuring statutory compliance, contractor performance, and high service standards across a diverse property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services
- Manage outsourced Hard FM contracts, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are achieved
- Oversee statutory compliance across building services, including:
- Fire safety
- Legionella
- Asbestos management
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical plant
- Manage maintenance budgets, contractor performance, and service improvements
- Provide technical advice on maintenance, engineering, and building services
- Ensure compliance with:
- Health & Safety legislation
- Permit-to-work systems
- Safe systems of work
- Produce reports and performance data to support operational decision-making
- Building strong relationships with:
- Internal stakeholders
- Contractors
- External partners

About You
- Significant experience leading maintenance operations across large and complex estates
- Strong background in managing:
- Outsourced Hard FM contracts
- Contractor performance
- Excellent knowledge of:
- Statutory compliance
- Building services
- Health & Safety legislation
- Experience managing:
- Maintenance budgets
- KPIs
- Service delivery
- Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Degree or equivalent qualification in:
- Building Services
- Engineering
- Building Surveying
- Related discipline (desirable)
