Head of Major Infrastructure Projects
Director - Head of Major Infrastructure Projects
Location: Wimborne, Dorset or Woking, Surrey | Hybrid/remote considered Salary: Around £100,000, depending on experience Bonus: Generous performance-related bonus/commission
A major new market opportunity is unfolding for Wild Capital, and we are seeking an experienced, commercially driven Director of Infrastructure Solutions to lead our exposure in the nationally significant infrastructure sector. This high-impact leadership role calls for someone with deep understanding of how major infrastructure projects are planned, financed, procured, and delivered, with the ability to transform Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) into compelling commercial offerings for clients.
In this position, you will oversee senior relationships to secure new business and negotiate sophisticated BNG packages for major infrastructure clients—spanning transport, energy, water, and utilities, among others. Collaborating with our ecology, land, legal, and leadership teams, you’ll shape robust commercial offers that meet technical standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Identity, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in the NSIP (Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects) and major infrastructure sectors.
- Build and nurture long-standing senior relationships with infrastructure promoters, Tier 1 contractors, DCO applicants, and their advisors.
- Act as Wild Capital’s primary contact for the infrastructure sector—participating in client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Win frameworks and tenders for major infrastructure project-related work.
- Lead commercial negotiations on BNG packages, pricing, deal structuring, and contract terms.
- Collaborate with our internal specialists (ecology, land, and legal) to tailor strong, deliverable proposals.
- Monitor shifts in NSIP, planning, and BNG regulations/guidance, feeding insights into the company’s strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
