Opportunity Overview

Not only is this your opportunity to build out the marine team of a fiercely independent retail and wholesale broker, you'll also take ownership of an existing marine book of business generated from their European offices, meaning you won't be starting from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • You'll be responsible for placing internal marine hull (brown water) and marine cargo business as it comes through, building strong relationships across the European network and ultimately being given the platform to grow and shape the division as you see fit.
  • Work closely with the Head of Specialty, a genuinely great leader with an excellent track record of building high-performing teams by simply putting people first.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Role Fit

This is a real opportunity for a Senior Marine Broker or Producer looking to step into a leadership role and take ownership of a growing marine division.

If you're the sort of Marine Broker or Producer who wants to have a voice, bring ideas to the table and be trusted to go and make things happen, this is exactly the kind of environment where you'll thrive.

Company Culture

As an insurance recruitment business, we've placed more than 20 people into this firm over the years and the feedback has always been exceptional. The culture is genuinely people-focused, management is flat and accessible, and there's none of the corporate red tape you often find in the larger Lloyd's brokers.

There are good markets already in place (if you have some additional markets to bring, even better). The platform is certainly there, but as a marine insurance professional, this is your opportunity to make it your own.
