Head of Market Operations

Remote - UK

A leading engineering and technology business supporting critical infrastructure is seeking a Head of Market Operations to lead delivery performance across the UK and Ireland.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a key leadership role focused on ensuring customer commitments are delivered safely, efficiently, and commercially. You will oversee regional operations including field service activities, software deployment programmes, project delivery, resource planning, customer escalations, and operational performance, driving greater consistency, accountability, and predictability across the business.

  • Working closely with commercial, engineering, product, and support teams, you will use data, KPIs, and forecasting to improve delivery performance, customer outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • You will play a central role in embedding strong operating disciplines, enhancing resource utilization, ensuring successful deployment and adoption of technology solutions, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

The role combines leadership of traditional operational delivery teams with responsibility for software deployment and implementation activities, ensuring customers receive a seamless experience from project mobilisation through to operational delivery and technology adoption.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced operational leader with a background in engineering, infrastructure, utilities, technical services, software deployment, or project-based environments. You will have a proven track record of improving operational performance, leading customer-facing delivery teams, and driving change within complex organisations. Experience overseeing technology implementation, software deployment, digital transformation, or operational technology programmes would be highly advantageous.

  • Candidates may come from utilities, electricity networks, infrastructure services, industrial technology, engineering services, or software-enabled technical businesses.
  • Exposure to software deployment, technology implementation, SaaS delivery, operational technology (OT) solutions, or digital transformation programmes would complement a strong operational delivery background and help drive success in this role.

This opportunity will suit a pragmatic and collaborative leader who enjoys improving how operations function, influencing across multiple stakeholders, and delivering measurable results in a customer-critical environment. You will be equally comfortable leading field-based operational teams and supporting the successful deployment of innovative technology solutions that help customers manage critical infrastructure and improve performance.
