About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Marketing & Communications to lead our marketing function during a maternity cover period. This is an exciting opportunity to shape brand awareness, drive audience engagement, and support organisational growth across a dynamic health and wellbeing charity. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll lead marketing strategy, oversee integrated campaigns, manage a small marketing team, and use data-driven insights to maximise impact and return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and deliver an organisation-wide marketing and communications strategy
- Provide strategic marketing input to organisational planning and growth initiatives
- Lead and develop the marketing team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Manage marketing budgets, planning, reporting and performance evaluation
Brand & Communications
- Strengthen Living Better's brand, reputation and market positioning
- Ensure consistent messaging across all digital and offline channels
- Lead integrated campaigns, stakeholder communications and public affairs activity
- Support CEO communications and engagement with key partners, funders and local authorities

Digital Marketing & Growth
- Lead SEO, paid media, email marketing and social media strategies
- Oversee website performance, user experience and digital optimisation
- Drive audience acquisition, engagement and retention
- Manage campaign performance using data, analytics and reporting tools
Content & Campaign Delivery
- Oversee production of engaging content, case studies, newsletters and marketing materials
- Deliver impactful marketing campaigns and events
- Manage external suppliers, agencies and creative partners
About You
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior marketing or communications leadership role
- Strong track record of developing and delivering marketing strategies
- Experience across digital marketing, social media, email marketing, SEO, and analytics
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience using Google analytics, SaaS, CRM and CMS platforms
- Strong project management and budget management capabilities
- Data-driven approach with a focus on measurable outcomes

Desirable
- Experience within the charity, public, health or wellbeing sectors
- WordPress, Divi, Beacon CRM or similar platform experience
- Canva or Adobe Creative Suite skills
- PR, partnership, or fundraising campaign experience
Team Responsibility
You'll lead and support:
- 2x Digital Marketing Degree Apprentices
- Marketing & Communications Officer
Working Pattern
- 30–37.5 hours per week (4 or 5 days)
- Hybrid working
- Minimum 2 days per week in the St Ives office
- Occasional travel across Cambridgeshire and partner locations
