Head of Marketing - Automotive, Amazon

We're seeking an exceptional marketing leader and entrepreneur to serve as the Head of Marketing for an entirely new business initiative. This is a high-impact role in a strategically-important new business for Amazon. The candidate will be responsible for building awareness and driving customer engagement for a new category in the Automotive space. You will build the go-to-market plan working closely with strategic partners, external agencies and internal teams. You will also build a playbook for international expansion marketing as we scale the business to other countries. This is a true builder role. We're looking for an entrepreneurial leader who thrives at dealing with ambiguity and enjoys a start-up environment.

Key job responsibilities ● Build a resourcing plan and hire a lean team to accomplish the following objectives: ● Identify the target customer for the new product category on Amazon ● Build the new brand positioning ● Generate awareness for the new category, both on Amazon and through off-Amazon channels ● Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns (both digital and physical events) that introduce target customers to this new capability on Amazon ● Track campaign performance and iterate to drive higher efficiency ● Leverage Amazon's marketing channels and tools to drive customer discovery and engagement ● Understand and align with key partner needs to drive strategic marketing plans that work in tandem with one another ● Create collaborative marketing frameworks that amplify partner brands while building the new Amazon category ● Serve as the marketing liaison between Amazon and partner agencies ● Develop regionalized marketing strategy and deployment that reflects deep understanding of market nuances relative to the US ● Translate local cultural insights into compelling marketing campaigns, event strategies, and messaging ● Ensure all marketing efforts resonate authentically with local consumers ● Partner with PR teams to drive international expansion messaging and consumer PR tactics ● Manage launch communications and ongoing brand storytelling ● Work with legal teams to implement regional advertising guidance and ensure compliance with UK advertising standards ● Navigate automotive-specific regulatory requirements for marketing in the UK ● Identify, evaluate, and onboard agency partners and contractors needed to execute marketing programs ● Manage agency relationships and ensure quality delivery against objectives and timelines Basic Qualifications: - Experience managing teams

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in marketing or marketing research
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership
  • Experience in launching new products
  • Experience in marketing, brand advertising, media sales, or online advertising and close work with senior advertisers and agency stakeholders
  • Experience in e-commerce or online advertising
  • Experience driving results through digital marketing and multi-channel campaigns
  • Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in traditional and emerging media channels including TV, OOH, cinema, digital display, online video and paid social
  • Experience leading across multiple locales
  • MBA
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion
  • Experience using customer insights and data to deeply understand target customers and dive deep
  • Automotive industry experience (highly preferred but not required)
  • Experience marketing complex, high-consideration purchases
  • Experience navigating regulated industries and advertising compliance
