Head of Marketing (Interim) – Data Delivery Platform Transformation
About the Role
This is a senior, hands-on marketing leadership role, filling a planned maternity leave during an evolutionally critical period for ’Lumen’, the firm’s data delivery platform. The role demands full ownership of the marketing function as it navigates:
- Platform transformation
- Website redesign delivery
- Team expansion and capacity building
The candidate is expected to combine strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring alignment across campaigns, content, and digital channels. For the right individual, this contract has potential to transition into a permanent appointment.
Key Deliverables (First 3–6 Months)
- Develop a clear, sector-aligned lead generation strategy
- Establish a thought leadership roadmap and content plan
- Improve lead quality/conversion metrics
- Streamline marketing activity for measurable ROI
- Enhance alignment between marketing and commercial teams
- Oversee timely, effective website project delivery
Job Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Head of Marketing / Marketing Director role, preferably in professional services or advisory firms
- Expertise leading cross-functional, high-complexity projects (e.g., website redesigns, platform launches, rebrands) with agencies and stakeholders
- Strong B2B lead generation track record
- Ability to build thought leadership platforms with commercial outcomes
- Commercially savvy with deep understanding of sales alignment, pipeline generation
- Hands-on, fast-paced execution mindset for interim roles
- Exceptional stakeholder management, especially with senior leadership

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Revenue Impact
- Design a high-quality focus lead strategy (prioritising Q > Qty)
- Align with Sales on ideal customer profiles, pipeline requirements, and conversions
- Implement lead scoring, tracking, and attribution frameworks
- Drive measurable improvements in MQL → SQL conversion and pipeline contribution
- Own marketing-influenced revenue targets in partnership with the CR Owner
2. Thought Leadership & Content Strategy
- Develop a content-driven B2B strategy aligned to key sectors/services
- Turn internal expertise into high-impact assets (e.g., insights reports, webinars, executive commentary)
- Govern content calendars across all channels, including LinkedIn, analyst engagement, and external events
- Position the firm’s leaders as industry authorities through targeted outreach
3. Marketing Strategy & Delivery
- Rapidly diagnose current marketing effectiveness, identifying gaps and inefficiencies
- Implement a clear, prioritised marketing plan linked to business objectives
- Maintain daily operational leads on campaigns, content, social, and events
- Speak authoritatively to leadership on pipeline, campaign performance, and ROI
- Ensure all activities are highly targeted, data-backed, and revenue-driven

4. Team Leadership & Capability
- Lead, coach, and inspire the London-based marketing team with vision, structures, and accountability
- Introduce best practices in planning, execution, and performance management
- Progressively stabilise and enhance the function, addressing capability gaps
- Maintain a high-energy, collaborative culture aligned with the company’s forward momentum
5. Data, Insights & Performance
- Define KPIs tied to revenue/pipeline and ensure consistent tracking
- Foster a data-driven company culture, enabling continuous optimisation
- Provide transparent, actionable reporting to senior stakeholders
