Job Title
Do you have a passion for commercial non-fiction and a solid knowledge of the UK book market? Due to growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced marketing professional to join the Marketing team of a successful independent publisher, covering some of their leading brands. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Head of Marketing is a key role in the team, working closely with other teams across the business from editorial through to design and sales. This exciting role will involve working on a range of high-profile non-fiction. This role offers hybrid working with 3-4 days in the London office.

- Planning/implementing audience-focused, creative and sales-driving campaigns for a wide range of non-fiction, collaborating with the Publicity and Digital teams.
- Working on the strategy for titles for acquired books and identifying the audiences for them.
- Manage and develop two direct reports.
- Engage everyone who works on these brands, with a clear view of the audiences to ensure publishing is optimised.
We are looking for someone with a passion for great creative advertising, and able to guide and inspire your direct reports, while creating your own stand-out, sales-driving campaigns for leading brands and debuts. You will be passionate about non-fiction with a solid understanding of the UK book market. Demonstrable experience in leading marketing campaigns to build bestsellers is essential, as are outstanding copywriting skills. You will have line management experience, with the ability to plan the team’s workload and team development. Experience in managing budgets and working with a media buying agency would by highly advantageous.
