A niche, successful and highly ambitious agency is looking for an experienced and inspiring Head of Marketing to join the team. Someone who combines strong marketing expertise with the ability and ambition to develop people and deliver outstanding results for clients.
The Role
This is a pivotal leadership position, sitting at the heart of our agency’s growth and development. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll take ownership of the marketing function, leading a small team of specialists across SEO, Paid Media, Content Marketing and other marketing disciplines.
You’ll develop the team, drive performance and help shape the future of our marketing services, ensuring clients receive consistently high-quality marketing management while helping the agency scale efficiently and sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Leadership & Strategy
- Provide marketing leadership across the agency, ensuring clients benefit from commercially focused marketing strategies, innovative thinking and current best practice.
- Maintain a strong understanding of developments across marketing channels, consumer behaviour, AI and emerging technologies, helping ensure the agency remains ahead of the curve.
- Work closely with account management and client services colleagues to support client retention, growth and satisfaction.
- Act as a senior point of escalation for marketing-related client queries and challenges.
- Help shape the future direction of the agency’s marketing services, identifying opportunities for innovation, improvement and growth.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, manage and inspire the marketing team, fostering a collaborative, accountable and high-performing culture.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones and performance reviews to support team development.
- Set clear objectives, standards and KPIs across the department.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and development of future team members.
- Champion continuous improvement and accountability.

Performance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee the quality of marketing delivery, using performance data and reporting frameworks to drive continual improvement.
- Utilise GA4 and other reporting tools to analyse marketing performance, generate meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Drive the standardisation and continuous improvement of marketing delivery across our niche client base through scalable processes, reporting frameworks and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities to utilise AI, automation and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, consistency and client outcomes.
- Work closely with the Marketing Operations Manager to ensure effective workflow management, operational efficiency and resource planning.
About You
You’re an experienced marketer with strong commercial awareness who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy improving performance, developing people and helping clients achieve growth.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in a senior marketing or marketing leadership role, ideally within an agency environment.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of SEO, Paid Media, Content Marketing and Marketing Automation, alongside an appreciation of brand building, customer journeys and marketing performance.
- Experience using GA4 and other reporting tools to analyse marketing performance, generate meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss marketing strategy and performance with clients and colleagues.
- Experience managing, mentoring or developing marketing professionals, or a genuine aspiration to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Experience leading and developing teams within a hybrid working environment, maintaining strong communication, accountability and performance standards.
- Appreciation of both brand-building and performance marketing, and the role each plays in generating growth for businesses selling high-value, considered purchases.
- Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- Experience using AI and automation to improve marketing performance, operational efficiency and scalability, with a clear understanding of their growing role in modern agencies.
