About Us

We’re Nominet – a world-leading domain name registry operating at the heart of the UK internet. While we're best known for running .UK domains, our DNS expertise also underpins critical internet infrastructure that government services, including the NHS, rely on. As a public benefit company, our work has a positive impact on society. We’ve donated millions to projects that use technology to improve people’s lives and have committed to delivering £60m worth of support over the next three years.

The Role

As Head of External Media, you will lead the development and execution of our external media strategy across earned, paid, and shared channels. You’ll play a vital role in shaping our public presence, building trust with key audiences, and growing our reputation. You will also oversee media relationships, external campaign storytelling, and reputation management, ensuring our brand message reaches the right people in the right way, with authenticity and impact.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and deliver a compelling external narrative that communicates Nominet’s mission, impact, and role as guardian of the .UK registry.
  • Build strong media relationships, respond to press queries, and support spokespeople with clear, consistent messaging.
  • Lead Nominet’s social media strategy, increasing reach, engagement, and influence.
  • Manage proactive and reactive communications for reputational issues, policy debates, crises, and stakeholder matters.
  • Work across the business to identify media-worthy stories and amplify Nominet’s public benefit contribution.
  • Support member communications in partnership with the Head of Membership.
  • Line manage the Communications Lead.
  • Measure media, social, and campaign performance, including reach, sentiment, influence, and ROI.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
