GenesisCare UK is looking for an exceptional Head of Medical Physics to provide strategic, professional and operational leadership for Medical Physics, Nuclear Medicine Physics and Dosimetry services across our national network.

This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of radiotherapy across one of the UK's leading independent cancer providers. Working as part of the Senior Operational Leadership Team, you'll lead the development of our national Medical Physics strategy, champion innovation and emerging technologies, and ensure the highest standards of scientific governance, patient safety and clinical excellence.

As our Head of Medical Physics, you'll provide strategic leadership for Medical Physics, Nuclear Medicine Physics and Dosimetry services across GenesisCare UK.

You'll work closely with Executive colleagues to shape national strategy, lead the implementation of new technologies and treatment techniques, oversee the lifecycle management of our radiotherapy equipment, and ensure our scientific services continue to deliver outstanding patient outcomes.

Leading a highly skilled national team, you'll foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement while supporting organisational growth, service development and the adoption of emerging technologies.

This is a high-profile leadership role with the opportunity to influence clinical practice, operational performance and the future direction of cancer care across the organisation.

What You'll Do

You'll:

  • Provide strategic leadership for Medical Physics, Nuclear Medicine Physics and Dosimetry services across GenesisCare UK.
  • Develop and deliver the national Medical Physics strategy aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Lead innovation through the implementation of new radiotherapy technologies, automation, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
  • Oversee clinical governance, patient safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance across Medical Physics services.
  • Lead the national radiotherapy equipment strategy, including commissioning, replacement programmes and future capital investment.
  • Drive operational performance, workforce planning and continuous service improvement across a multi-site national network.
  • Support organisational growth through new centres, expanded clinical services and implementation of emerging technologies.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, academic partners and technology suppliers to drive innovation and service excellence.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing Medical Physics workforce.

What You'll Have

You'll be an experienced Clinical Scientist with significant senior leadership experience within Medical Physics and a proven track record of delivering strategic change within a complex radiotherapy environment.

You'll also bring:

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist.
  • Certified Medical Physics Expert (MPE) status.
  • Extensive experience in radiotherapy physics, treatment planning and dosimetry.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.
  • A strong understanding of clinical governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience commissioning radiotherapy equipment and implementing new technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to influence, inspire and deliver change at organisational level.
