Head of Membership
Company description
UKHospitality is the member-focused, community-driven body representing the hospitality sector across the UK. It speaks for a broad range of leisure and out-of-home businesses, from FTSE 100 companies to independent operators and 6,000 affiliated businesses. Its membership spans coffee shops, hotels, pubs, restaurants, visitor attractions, nightclubs, wedding venues, contract caterers, and many other hospitality businesses.
Role description
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the membership growth strategy while overseeing the retention and engagement of existing members through a dedicated membership team.
- Working closely with colleagues across marketing, policy, and communications, you will identify new membership opportunities, convert prospects into members, strengthen the membership proposition, and ensure exceptional member engagement.
- This is a highly visible role requiring excellent commercial awareness, relationship-building skills, and the ability to represent the organisation confidently across the sector.

Qualifications
- Develop and deliver the organisation's membership growth strategy.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the membership team to achieve ambitious growth and retention targets.
- Identify new membership opportunities and convert prospects into long-term members.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across the sector.
- Work with the marketing team to generate high-quality membership leads through campaigns, events, digital marketing, and networking.
- Continually review and enhance the membership value proposition.
- Analyse membership data, trends, and performance to inform future strategy.
- Develop and improve CRM systems, reporting, and member engagement processes.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement across membership operations and customer experience.

Specification
- Proven experience leading membership growth within a membership organisation, trade association, professional body, or similar.
- Demonstrable success in business development, relationship-based sales, or commercial membership growth.
- Previous experience managing and developing a team.
- Strong stakeholder management and networking skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and influencing abilities.
- Commercially aware with a proactive, results-driven approach.
- Experience developing membership strategies and improving member engagement.
- Confident using CRM systems and analysing membership data.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
