Head of M&A - North West

On-site | Permanent | £110-125,000 + Bonus + Benefits

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU MUST ALREADY BE BASED IN THE NORTHWEST

Sellick Partnership is working with a highly acquisitive, market-leading organisation to recruit a Head of Mergers & Acquisitions. This is a pivotal leadership role where you can shape and deliver a high-impact M&A strategy in a dynamic, fast-growing business.

The Role

As Head of M&A, you will act as the visible external face of the organisation’s deal activity while working closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to drive long-term strategic growth.

You will lead the full M&A lifecycle — from origination through to execution and integration — ensuring delivery of a robust pipeline of opportunities and successful transaction outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Partner with executive leadership to define and execute the group’s M&A strategy aligned to long-term objectives
  • Origination & Evaluation: Identify, assess and prioritise acquisition targets, including financial modelling and valuation analysis
  • Transaction Leadership: Lead end-to-end deal execution including negotiations, structuring, due diligence and completion
  • Integration: Oversee post-acquisition integration to maximise synergies, value creation and operational alignment
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including preparing board-level presentations
  • Pipeline Delivery: Build and maintain a sustainable M&A pipeline, delivering multiple transactions annually ranging from bolt-ons to larger strategic deals
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure robust governance, risk management and audit processes across all transactions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
