About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join this well-known and respected global spirits business with decades of experience and a long-standing presence in every back bar.
My client is seeking an exceptional Head of National On-Trade to spearhead the expansion of their iconic portfolio of premium and luxury spirits brands within the on-trade channel.
This pivotal leadership role is responsible for:
- Defining and executing the end-to-end on-trade strategy
- Driving sustainable brand growth
- Strengthening route-to-market partnerships
- Delivering best-in-class customer engagement
The successful candidate will:
- Lead a high-performing team
- Work cross-functionally to maximise distribution, visibility, sales rate, and new product launches
- Cover national accounts, managed groups, wholesalers, and the hospitality industry

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Develop and implement on-trade strategy to drive growth, market share, and profitability
- Lead annual commercial plans with emphasis on revenue, volume, distribution, and sales targets
- Own and optimise route-to-market strategy, fostering strong partnerships with national accounts
- Align and manage strategic relationships with NTO accounts, managed groups, hotel groups, and operators
Sales & Development
- Secure and expand listings, menu placements, pouring rights, and commercial agreements to enhance visibility
- Partner with Marketing and Brand teams to create best-in-class activation programs
- Lead new product launches (NPD) across the on-trade channel
- Identify market trends, opportunities, and competitive insights
Performance & Financial Management
- Handle channel budgets, forecasting, and investment plans while ensuring profitability
- Monitor and optimise KPIs (distribution, sales rates, customer performance)
Team Leadership & Culture
- Coach and develop a high-performing sales team
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Act as the senior on-trade leader, influencing cross-functional decision-making and championing excellence

Requirements
Key Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior sales role within the drinks industry
- Must be available in the London office for 10 days per month
- Proven track record of sales strategies that drive significant revenue growth
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and motivational skills
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
- Willingness to regularly travel to meet clients, distributors, and team members across the UK
