Head of Nursery (Float Role)

This role would suit anybody with experience as a Deputy and Management experience.

Qualifications (For the Early Years Educator)

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 Qualification in Early Years Education
  • Minimum 2 years' Team Leadership/Management experience
  • Minimum 3 years' Nursery experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance
  • Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities
  • Knowledge of and commitment to: child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities, and SEN/Inclusion
  • Experience of working as a key worker for a group of children and their families
  • Ability to observe, assess, and report on children's behaviour

Duties (For the Early Years Educator)

  • Provide safe, high-quality education and care for children attending the nursery
  • Fulfill all legal and statutory requirements and supervise staff on a day-to-day basis
  • Contribute to and implement Nursery policies
  • Effective team leadership: lead a team, manage effectively and efficiently, maintain positive relationships and be effective as a mentor
  • Manage the provision of the nursery to ensure children, parents, and the staff team work together for high-quality childcare
  • Be responsible for the management of day-to-day financial operations within the nursery, including meeting financial targets and managing occupancy to ensure maximum capacity
  • Agree and set Nursery goals and monitor progress against targets
  • Monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring continuity of policies and procedures, best practice, and standards are maintained
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Collaborate with parents and other staff members to support children’s individual needs
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of all children
