Head of Nursing
Surgery & Therapies Directorate
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
The Head of Nursing will join our Surgery & Therapies Directorate, working within its triumvirate management structure alongside the Clinical Director and General Manager. You will drive the strategic, quality, and transformational objectives of the Trust.
Key Responsibilities
Management & Accountability
- Lead nursing and clinical services as a full member of the Directorate Management Team, accountable to the Clinical Director and partnering with the General Manager.
- Ensure the Directorate delivers on its objectives across clinical services, providing strategic, professional, and operational leadership.
- Deputise for the Clinical Director when required.
- Act as the lead Nursing representative for the Directorate, modelling key behaviours and ensuring alignment with Trust priorities.
Clinical Leadership
- Provide strategic nursing leadership across the Directorate and the entire Trust, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective patient care within budget.
- Support partnership working with the Cancer and Surgery Clinical Group to develop and maintain effective patient pathways and staff support systems.
- Oversee professional leadership for allied health professionals within the Directorate.
