We're working with a fast-growing business specialising in commercialisation and placemaking, that's looking to appoint a newly created Operations Director to support the next stage of its journey. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll become the operational lead for the business, providing direction, support and leadership to the wider team while helping drive future growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building teams, solving problems and making a real impact within an entrepreneurial business where you'll have genuine influence from day one.

The Role

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a growing national business, acting as the key operational leader beneath the Managing Director.
  • Work closely with Regional Managers to help them overcome challenges, improve performance and develop their teams.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, attending meetings and pitches and representing the business with confidence.
  • Travel regularly across the UK to get to know the portfolio and provide hands-on support where it's needed most.
  • Review operational performance, client feedback and service standards, identifying opportunities to improve the business.
  • Challenge existing ways of working and help introduce new systems, technology and AI-driven improvements.
  • Partner with the senior leadership team to support business growth, mobilise new contracts and contribute to strategic decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
